Fred Clark

Fred Clark is an artist and sculptor whose practice revisits classical myth and animal symbolism through contemporary materials and forms. Working with steel wire, plaster, bronze, Jesmonite and ink, Clark explores archetypal figures such as the bull, horse, and Leda the Swan with a gestural sensibility that pulsates with energy. His drawings feature dense tangles of aggressive, looping strokes that evoke both figuration and dissolution, combining fleeting anatomical references with primal emotional states. Oscillating between muscular and gossamer, his artworks are bound together by a powerful energetic flow that invites viewers to consider the manifold resonances of form.
