FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Parking

Parking is included in the purchase of any event ticket or pass.

There’s plenty of parking at the venue. When you arrive at the entrance of the festival, you will be directed to park in the Deer Park, next to the castle.

From the Deer Park, there will be signs showing you how to get to the festival marquee - the walk takes 6-7 minutes. If you have any questions, parking staff will be on hand to help.

If you require a disabled parking spot, please inform the staff upon arrival and they will direct you accordingly.

You can enter the grounds from as early as 9:00 AM.

Food & Drink

There will be several food vendors selling pizza, paella, hamburgers and lunch boxes on the grounds and in the Keep of the Castle, as well as two bars selling alcohol, one on the Garrison floor of the Keep and the other at the Marquee. You are welcome to bring your own water. Our goal is to promote and showcase food suppliers from East Anglia so we hope you will patronise these merchants at the Festival.

There will be picnic tables outside the keep and in the Tapestry Room, on the ground floor of the Keep, so you can cool your heels and enjoy your drinks and food in comfort.

Drinks purchased from our bar, including alcohol, will be permitted inside the Marquee during events.

Ticketing

We are selling e-tickets only — and no paper tickets.

Please purchase your tickets online in advance of the event.

There will be no tickets on sale at the door. If you suddenly decide you’d like to attend the Festival, please purchase a ticket online before you arrive at the entrance of the Marquee.

About e-tickets

An E-Ticket is a ticket that is sent to your email address after you select your tickets and pay for them online on our website.

We recommend printing the E-ticket in full to avoid any issues on the door. However, you can show your e-ticket on your mobile phone at the door to gain entry.

We cannot be held responsible for any issues arising if you do not take this reference/barcode with you.

We reserve the right to view your credit card or additional personal identification, before admitting you into the Festival.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and JCB and all debit cards.

Why is there a handling fee?

The handling fee helps us defray part of the cost of ticketing, administration and credit card fees.

When will virtual tickets go on sale?

Virtual tickets, for the live streaming of the event, are on sale now at https://ea-festival.eventcube.io/

When I get there

Will I get a wristband?

Yes - but only if you have purchased an All Access Pass or Day Pass. You will receive a wristband on entering the festival.

Will I be allocated seating?

No. There will be no allocated seating in the marquee due to the quick turnaround of events.

Are dogs allowed on the grounds?

No. Dogs are not allowed on the grounds during the festival, apart from guide dogs.

How secure is my personal information?

We do not share your personal data with third parties.

The EventCube ticketing platform, employed on our website, uses DigiCert-certified 256-bit Secure Socket Layering and we use Stripe to process your payments and to keep your details safe. We do not store your credit card details after the transaction is complete.

What’s the contingency plan for COVID-19?

We intend to live-stream the festival, regardless of COVID-19.

Should government policy require the cancellation of the in-person event at Hedingham Castle in its entirety, we will conduct the festival virtually. Tickets already purchased will be automatically converted into tickets to the same virtual event(s).

In the event that the UK Government requires social distancing at the time of the Festival, we will continue with the event but with the marquee filled to approximately half capacity only, to ensure adherence to government guidelines. In that case, family or bubble clusters will be seated together with gaps of 2 meters between them. Should this contingency arise, ticketholders will retain their priority for admission by chronological order of purchase. In other words, those who purchased tickets last will have their tickets converted to virtual tickets first.

Regarding tickets for individual sessions, if a performance is entirely canceled because of COVID-19, we will refund the purchase price of the ticket (excluding ticket handling fee). This does not apply to All-day Passes.

This page will be updated in due course as we get closer to the Festival. Please drop us a line at contact@eafestival.com if you have a question, suggestion or feedback.
